Tremont & Cade’s Cove
Our day started early with a drive across Great Smoky Mountains National Park On US441. We stopped in Pigeon Forge for lunch at Old Mill. Afterward we drove a new section of Foothills Parkway from Wears Valley down to Townsend. Then it was off toward Cade’s Cove with a detour up Tremont Road. There are so many opportunities to photograph amazing cascades. After driving about halfway up on Tremont we turned around and headed for the cove loop. We made two trips around the loop getting stuck in the same bear jamb twice. Pull off the road people! Really? The second time people had walked out into the forest still trying to take a picture of the bear. That is a big no-no too along with stopping in the road. During our trips to scenic areas we often are on scene in less than perfect lighting. On our second trip through the loop however the lighting was perfect on Cade’s Cove Methodist Church.
