High Falls Park and Old Barns
It was a 45 minute drive from Fort Payne to this park. It is located in a very remote area. Farmers having difficulty crossing Town Creek volunteered to help build a wooden covered bridge. Sometime after 1920 the highway department directed traffic in other directions and the bridge was no longer significant. It fell into disrepair and was destroyed by a fire in the 1950's. The original stone pillars are used today for this footbridge.
