Stormy Weather & Sunset From Waterrock Knob
In the valley below we made the decision to make the drive up to Waterrock Knob to photograph the sunset. On the way up we drove through a few sprinkles. We stopped on the way to shoot this beautiful Turk's Cap Lilly with a few water droplets from the sprinkles. As we arrived at Waterrock Knob the sun was shining. We started hearing the rumble of thunder behind us and turned to see the clouds brewing. A brief rainbow was visible but quickly disappeared. Meanwhile on the west side of Waterrock Knob the sun was setting and the color explosion began. We stayed well after dark to shoot a few more shots before heading down the mountains where we found the rain we watched from the top.
