Morning In Cade’s Cove
We awoke at 5:00am and were out the door at 6:08am. We thought arriving earlier than we usually do would improve our chances on seeing wildlife. Along the way across the park we were treated with brilliant sunrise colors at an overlook. Upon arrival at Cade’s Cove we found the morning traffic was much better than what we usually deal with. We found two does in a horse pasture on Sparks Lane. The morning sun was already above the mountains and lighting the green pastures and fields. Then on our second pass through Loop Road we found a young bear feeding along the edge of the road. On our return trip across the park we made a stop at Chimney Tops Picnic Area. This is a favorite spot for many of the visitors to GSMNP. The water was lower than our last visit but rock hopping to photograph the cascades is always a treat for a photographer.
