Cade’s Cove & Oconaluftee Elk

Another trip to Cade’s Cove where we did not find the wildlife we sought. After two drives through the loop it was time to get creative. We went to the back of the picnic area and took a short hike up the trail. There were plenty of things to catch my eye. On the drive back across the mountains we found Oconaluftee Elk in the meadows of the Visitor’s Center. That in itself is a treat but when there are fawns it is really special.
