The Falls of Deep Creek
There are three waterfalls in the Deep Creek area of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Juney Whank Falls, Tom Branch Falls and Indian Creek Falls. From the trailhead parking area Juney Whank Falls is a .3 mile uphill hike. While the trail continues across the bridge we returned downhill to the parking area. There is a gravel road from the parking area used as the trail along Deep Creek to the other two waterfalls. Tom Branch Falls is a .2 mile hike on a flat trail and is a beautiful cascading waterfall. A butterfly decided my camera made a good perch. I stepped back to let it rest and to take its photograph with my phones camera. The hike continued along the swirling waters of Deep Creek for .8 miles uphill to Indian Creek. Another 200 feet of uphill trail takes you to Indian Creek Falls. Steps take you down to the base of the falls. It was a good day for hiking and photographing.
