Mt. Mitchell
We needed to drive to Asheville so while in the area we decided to see some of the sites in that area. Black Mountain was a nice small town where we visited an old hardware store. Then it was across the street where we found a cupcake shop. We then headed towards Blue Ridge Parkway and Mt. Mitchell. Along BRP we found Craggy Gardens which I had heard of but never visited. I bet it is incredible in spring and early summer. Finally we arrived at Mt. Mitchell. The clouds were building and thunder could be heard off in the distance. It was getting late so after a quick bite to eat at the restaurant we headed back to our home base in Franklin.
